FCS stands for Football Championship Subdivision and is the second-highest division of college football in the United States. It includes programs from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) that have not met the requirements to join the FBS, and consists of 125 teams in 13 conferences. FCS teams compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship, which is held annually to crown a national champion.
